Meet the team ...
This is the 4th year for the Pedals for Pediatrics team, which started riding the PMC in 2004 with a group of five.  Today that group has grown to 26, many of whom work at Children’s Hospital or Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.  To date, the Pedals for Pediatrics team has raised over $175,000 to support pediatric oncology programs at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Children’s Hospital Boston.  Remember, while the Pan-Mass Challenge supports the entire Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (adult and pediatric), every dollar contributed to the Pedals for Pediatrics team goes to pediatric oncology and neuro-oncology programs!
 
Pedals for Pediatrics
Allocation of Funds Between 2004 and 2005, the Pedals for Pediatrics team raised $37,451 which was put into a fund to be used specifically to support pediatric patients and their families at the Jimmy Fund Clinic and at Children’s Hospital Boston. This money was used for: • Patient/family extraordinary need for financial support ($8200) • Vouchers for stays at the Ronald McDonald House ($5000) • Memory boxes ($1400) • Assistance with parking, meals for patient families ($2900) Recently, we have been taking requests from physicians, nurses, and support staff in the Jimmy Fund Clinic and the Children’s Hospital Inpatient Oncology ward for allocating the balance of the money raised. Requests currently being considered include; • Brain Tumor Program End-of-Treatment Transition Program ($5000) • Stem Cell Transplant Welcome Pack ($2500) • Teen Program ($6000) • Inpatient entertainment ($1000) For details on how money raised in the 2006 PMC ride was used, please visit thankyou.rideforthem.com.http://thankyou.rideforthem.comshapeimage_5_link_0
